To further standardize the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, safeguard the originality of academic research, prevent academic misconduct, and strengthen the management of the peer review process, Environmental Sanitation Engineering hereby announces that, effective immediately, the journal will implement examination and management of AI tool usage in the data processing, image generation, text polishing and other relevant sections of submitted manuscripts. The specific requirements are as follows: 1. All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed for AI-generated content using professional detection tools, and manuscripts with more than 20% AI-generated content will be rejected; 2. All authors are requested to carefully read the "AI Usage Statement (Attached as Annex)" located in the drop-down menu of "For Authors" on the official journal website prior to submission; 3. The "Statement of AI-Assisted Usage" signed by all authors must be submitted simultaneously at the time of manuscript submission.
Annex:
Statement on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools by
Environmental Sanitation Engineering
1. Author Responsibility Statement
(1) AI tools are prohibited from being listed as co-authors of manuscripts;
(2) References listing AI tools as authors are not permitted.
2. Declaration of AI-Assisted Usage
If AI tools are adopted for assistance in the manuscript, authors shall comply with the following requirements when submitting:
(1) Clearly state the name, version and other relevant information of the AI tool used;
(2) Mark all AI-generated content within the manuscript, and verify the accuracy, authenticity and copyright of such content;
(3) State that all authors take responsibility for AI-generated content in the manuscript and bear corresponding legal liabilities.
3. Responsibility Statement for Reviewers (Including Editors)
(1) Reviewers (including editors) are prohibited from uploading manuscripts or review comments to AI tools;
(2) Reviewers (including editors) are prohibited from using AI to generate or assist in generating review comments.
This statement shall take effect as of the date of issuance, and the Editorial Office of Environmental Sanitation Engineering reserves the right of final interpretation for this statement.
