Abstract: High temperature melting is one of the effective treatment technologies of fly ash reduction, harmless and resource utilization in domestic waste incineration. In order to investigate the occurrence form of chlorine in fly ash during high temperature melting process, fly ash composition was analyzed by XRF, and experiments of washing and calcination after washing were carried out. The distributive behavior of chlorine element in fly-ash fused slag was studied from four aspects of slag alkalinity, molten salt composition, reaction temperature and reaction time. Result showed that calcium chloride has a high solubility in slag, and low alkalinity, high temperature (1 450 ℃), as well as short reaction time (1 hour) were beneficial to reduce the chlorine content in slag and could improve the quality. Both sodium chloride and potassium chloride had lower solubility in slag than calcium chloride, and potassium chloride had the lowest solubility in slag.
